Essential Job Qualifications:
Graduation with a degree in a related science from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with acceptable experience.
Experience in collaborative work with forest sector stakeholders in at least three of the following groups: forest industry; provinces; academia; forest management enterprises; forest-dependent communities; Indigenous groups.
Experience in providing strategic written and verbal advice to an executive decision-making level (senior management) in an organization.
Experience in communicating scientific or technical information to non-scientists.
Experience in managing human and financial resources.
Experience in the delivery of collaborative agreements or contribution (transfer payment) agreements according to federal or provincial government programs
Experience planning and conducting field or laboratory-based forest research activities
Experience in forest management planning or forest operations
Bilingual – Imperative (BBB/BBB)
Knowledge of current issues that impact Canada’s forest sector
Knowledge of the roles of the federal government, provincial governments, and forest industry in responding to current issues that impact Canada’s forest sector
Ability to develop and deliver effective approaches for transferring research results to forest practitioners
Ability to communicate effectively orally
Ability to communicate effectively in writing
